May 8th 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the Tennis Masters Roma as he defeated Italy's Simon Bolelli with a 7-6, 6-3 win, he will now face Tommy Robredo. May 6th 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the Tennis Masters Roma as he defeated USA's Mardy Fish with a 6-1, 6-4 win, he will now face Gilles Simon or Simon Bolelli... April 12th 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the Davis Cup 1/4 finals as he defeated Michael Llodra with a 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 win and James Blake defeated Paul-Henri Mathieu to give USA a 2-0 lead against France! Well done! April 4th 2008: Wow, tough win..Andy was on such a high but he came up short today, losing 7-6, 6-2 against Russian Nikolay Davydenko... April 3rd 2008: Wow, just an awesome performance by Andy today, he won 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 against world #1 Roger Federer in the Sony Ericsson Open! With this win, Andy advances to a semifinal matchup with Nikolay Davydenko. “I came in knowing that nobody has beaten me 12 times in a row,” Roddick told the delighted capacity crowd afterward. “So I had that on my side.” April 2nd 2008: While Andy progresses in Miami, he has made important roads in his personal life as well! First off, he announced he was now engaged to bikini model Brookly Decker (see a photo here). He also purchased a new apartment in Manhattan, read about it here. April 2nd 2008: There was a rain delay but Andy was able to finish off his effort, he took out Julien Benneteau 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and reach the quarterfinals. Problem is that next up, he will face world #1 Roger Federer. April 1st 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the Sony Ericsson Open as he defeated Ivo Minar with a 7-6, 6-4 win, he will now face Julien Benneteau March 29th 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the Sony Ericsson Open as he defeated Victor Troicki with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win, he will now face Ivo Minar. March 16th 2008: Sad news as Andy lost his match today in the Pacific Life Open as he lost to Tommy Haas 6-4, 6-4... “He was coming up with some serious passing shots. He deserved a lot of what came his way and got the breaks today, also.“I don’t feel like I hit the ball badly. I maybe didn’t play as well as I should have on the points I should have won well on.“That being said, I’ve been playing very, very well for the last month so I’m not going to freak out over this loss and forget everything I’ve been able to kind of work towards in the last month.“My confidence is fine,” the 2003 U.S. Open champion added. “I feel optimistic about the tournaments coming up.” March 10th 2008: Andy is apparently going to skip the Beijing Olympics as he has decided to defend his title in Washington... March 9th 2008: Andy kept up the momentum in the Dubai final, he posted a solid 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 win against Spain's Feliciano Lopez...more details soon! March 7th 2008: Andy came up with another very good win today in the Dubai semifinals, this time as he took out world #3 Novak Djokovic with a 7-6, 6-3 win! Next up in tomorrow's final will be Spaniard Feliciano Lopez... March 6th 2008: After his big win today, Andy announced that he was no longer being coached by Jimmy Connors. Roddick said that Connors resigned about a week ago because he wanted to spend more time with his family.“I still have the utmost respect for Jimmy and thank him for his time,” Roddick said. I think maybe I got my foot in the door as far as that’s concerned and now I need to build on that.” February 24th 2008: Andy continued his road in San Jose, he reached the SAP Open singles final as he defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6(2), 6-1, next up will be Radek Stepanek. February 23rd 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the SAP Open, San Jose as he defeated Mardy Fish with a 7-6, 1-6, 7-5 win, he will now face Guillermo Garcia-Lopez February 22nd 2008: Andy was in action in San Jose yesterday evening, playing against the hottest sensation in men's tennis, he defeated K. Nishkori 6-2, 6-4 to reach the 3rd round, he will now face his good friend, fellow American Mardy Fish. February 21st 2008: Good news as Andy won his match today in the SAP Open, San Jose as he defeated C. Guccione with a 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 win, he will now face Nishkori |
